Israeli democracy is severely under threat as the government seeks to remove all checks and balances on its power, whilst simultaneously resuming intense fighting in Gaza. 

Our partners and a majority of the Israeli public broadly support a permanent ceasefire and hostage deal.

We will be joined by Mickey Gitzin, Executive Director of the New Israel Fund in Israel and Noa Landau, Deputy Editor of Haaretz.

Mickey and Noa will discuss Netanyahu’s intention to fire Ronen Bar, the head of the Shin Bet, and Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara, as well as the resumption of air strikes in Gaza. 

For the sake of the remaining hostages and nearly two million displaced Palestinians in the already devastated Gaza Strip, we urgently need to understand and respond to the resumption of war and attempts from extremists to further erode Israeli democracy.
