Human Rights Awards Dinner 2020 – At Home
We are delighted to extend a warm invitation to join us online for our Human Rights Awards Dinner – At Home, a digital event which will take place on Sunday 8 November 2019 between 8-9 pm.
This year is a year like no other, and so we’ll be offering an HRAD with a difference: an exciting combination of a live online event, presented by award-winning broadcaster and journalist, Jonathan Freedland – together with thought-provoking and beautifully-produced content from our grantees and leaders.
Access to our online event is £25 for a standard ticket and £125 for a Special Access VIP ticket. Book here.
For those purchasing our Special Access VIP tickets, you’re in for a season of treats: a live, interactive cookery demo with the inimitable chefs Sarit Packer and Itamar Srulovich of Honey & Co on Thursday 5th November at 6 pm, and a conversation on the American election results with two masters of Jewish history and politics: Sir Simon Schama and Prof David Myers in late November (date TBC).
As in previous years, we will be honouring grantees for their exceptional work on the ground:
For 2020 they are: ACRI – the Association for Civil Rights in Israel, and a joint award for Israel Women’s Network (IWN) and (WAV) Women Against Violence. All organisations are being awarded for their remarkable work and leadership in the Covid crisis.
ACRI has demonstrated impressive and tenacious leadership in the Covid crisis, and their impact on a number of different key civil rights issues such as freedom of expression and protection of personal privacy has been remarkable.
IWN and WAV
IWN and WAV are two exceptional organisations promoting women’s rights and empowerment in the Jewish and Arab population in Israel. During this current crisis they worked together to fight the sharp rise of domestic violence during the lockdown, and fronted a rapid and coordinated response.
We really hope you’ll be able to join us and encourage others to watch with you for what promises to be an uplifting and unforgettable HRAD with a difference.
