Human Rights Awards Dinner, Sunday 8th November
Our 2015 Human Rights Awards Dinner will take place at the Grand Connaught Rooms on Sunday 8 November 2015. This year we are celebrating the work of Israelis who dedicate their lives to advancing a diverse, tolerant and truly shared society.
We will be presenting our Human Rights Awards to three exceptional leaders:
Samah Salaime Egbariya – who works to fight violence against Arab women and create economic and social opportunities for Arab women in mixed cities such as Ramle and Lod. Samah champions shared society and is the founding director of AWC, Arab Women in the Centre.
Gadi Gvaryahu – a leading light in combating extremism, Gadi is the chairperson of Tag Meir, a coalition of 50 organisations that actively seek reconciliation and dialogue in the wake of racist attacks.
Eli Bareket – who has fought for Mizrahi empowerment, education and social justice for over a decade. Eli is the founder of Memizrach Shemesh, an organisation that promotes a deeper practice of social justice in often-overlooked Sephardi communities.
This year’s dinner also coincides with the 20th anniversary of Rabin’s assassination. To mark this event we are delighted to host his son, Yuval Rabin, as Guest of Honour. Yuval will be speaking about his father’s work towards co-existence and his lasting legacy.
