#HolotVoices

This past Sunday a new campaign called –  “Voices from Holot” was launched. The parters involved in the project are ACRI, Hotline for Refugees and Migrants, Physicians for Human Rights, Amnesty International and Assaf- Aid Organisation for Refugees and Asylum Seekers in Israel. The campaign is giving a voice to those refugees currently detained in Holot Detention Facility by encouraging firstly Israeli and now diaspora public to share their stories.

The public in Israel often hear about the issue of asylum-seekers in Israel but rarely, if ever, do they hear from those suffering. They do not hear their stories, their thoughts, feelings or experiences. This project aims to change that.

The campaign, which uses the hashtag #HolotVoices has reached thousands since its launch on Sunday. In doing so, the hope is to shine a light on Israel’s harsh detention policy and lobby for a change.

How can you get involved? Select a quote from the list contained in this link and join thousands of Israelis and Diaspora Jews who have shared the stories on social media using #HolotVoices
