Three new trustees join the New Israel Fund UK Board

We are delighted to announce that Alex Marcuson, Andrew Leek, and Anna Roiser have joined the New Israel Fund UK Board.

Following our recruitment process last year, the three new trustees all represent a next generation of lay leadership. Between them they bring finance, fundraising, strategy and communications expertise; and they emanate from communities and networks we hope will broaden and expand our engagement across the community in support of a just, safe, and equal Israel.

Alex Marcuson

“Having supported NIF for many years and enjoyed their annual dinners, I’m really excited to be joining the NIF UK Board. As Israel wrestles with unprecedented questions about its democratic identity, I am looking forward to working with David, Noleen and the rest of the Board in rising to the challenges we face.”

Alex is a consulting actuary and an expert in financial and risk modelling. Outside work he is a Freeman of the City of London and former Financial Representative of Brondesbury Park Synagogue.

Andrew Leek

“I’m delighted to be joining the board of NIF. I’ve long been an admirer of this incredible charity. NIF’s model of supporting and partnering with pioneers In Israel is the best way for diaspora Jews to show their love and hope for the future of the State. It is clearly an incredibly important time for the future of Israel and NIF has a vital role to play, ensuring the voice of the marginalised – Jews, Arabs and Palestinians – is heard and amplified.”

Andrew has worked in private equity since the late ‘90s, supporting dozens of businesses and the creation of thousands of jobs across the UK. He is the co-founder of Ignite, an investment business focussing on small, fast-growing business. He is an active member of Wimbledon Synagogue.

Anna Roiser

“I’m proud to have joined the board of NIF UK at this critical moment. NIF UK is a key bridge between our community and Israelis leading the resistance to their far-right government. As a former NIF UK Fellow and staff member I met many of the activists who are now on the front line of this battle. I know how tirelessly they will continue to fight for the rights and dignity of everyone living in Israel and under Israeli Occupation. Now, more than ever, they need our support, and I’m excited to work with NIF UK’s fantastic staff and board to maximize our reach.”

Anna is a Knowledge Development Lawyer working in Hunters’ Family Law team on research and analysis. Previously Anna was a Judicial Assistant at the Ministry of Justice. Anna has held many voluntary roles in the community and is a member of Muswell Hill Synagogue. Anna interned with Shatil and during time in Jerusalem was active with groups including All That’s Left, Ta’ayush, Free Jerusalem and the Sumud Freedom Camp.
