In mourning together, we seek not to equate experiences, but rather transform despair into hope and build compassion around our shared humanity. We remind ourselves and the world that occupation, oppression, and conflict are not inevitable.” – Organisers of the Joint Israeli-Palestinian Memorial Day

This year marks the 19th Joint Israeli-Palestinian Memorial Day, organised by Combatants for Peace and the Bereaved Parents Circle Families Forum. It is the only one of its kind, and the largest jointly organised Israeli-Palestinian peace event, drawing over 15,000 attendees in person and 200,000 virtually last year. The ceremony takes place annually on “Yom HaZikaron” (Israeli Remembrance Day), a national day of mourning for Israelis.

The ceremony this year takes place in the shadow of the Hamas terrorist attack on Israel on 7 October and the subsequent war in Gaza. With all eyes of the international community on Israel and Palestine, now more than ever, we need to unite around our sorrow and stay strong in building hope that another way is not only possible but imperative.

This screening is organised by the New Israel Fund (NIF) UK, Yachad, the Alliance for Middle East Peace (ALLMEP) and the UK Friends of the Bereaved Families Forum.

Register here, including an optional £10 donation. All proceeds will be donated to Combatants for Peace and the Parents’ Circle Families Forum. Your details will be shared with partners the New Israel Fund UK and the Alliance for Middle East Peace (ALLMEP).
