Dear friend,
I’m delighted to invite you to join us at our upcoming spring season of events.
Memorial Day
Join us for the Joint Israeli-Palestinian Memorial Day Ceremony on the eve of Yom HaZikaron (Memorial Day), Tuesday 29th April at 18:00.
This year marks the 20th Joint Israeli-Palestinian Memorial Day, organised by Combatants for Peace and the Parents Circle Family Forum. The ceremony is unique, deeply poignant, and the largest jointly organised Israeli-Palestinian peace event in the country.
You can take part in the following ways:
- A screening of the ceremony in the Liverpool Street area (details on registration), in partnership with the UK Friends of the Bereaved Families Forum and ALLMEP.
- A ceremony in the Camden area (details on registration), in partnership with Yachad.
- Streaming online from home
This is a unique opportunity to stand together in grief and remembrance, united in calling to demand an end to the bloodshed.
Get your tickets here for the Liverpool St. screening, here for the Camden screening, and here for online streaming.
Through the Lens of Turmoil and Resilience: Israel’s Press Photography Exhibit
We are thrilled to offer a unique event for Yom Ha’atzmaut in partnership with ‘Local Testimony ‘(Edut Mekomit)- the annual exhibition of photojournalism and documentary photography in Israel. This is the first time these photographs will be exhibited in London.
The exhibition will showcase the complex reality of the past year and a half in Israel and Palestine — the anguish alongside the profound resilience.
The event will take place on the evening of Thursday 8th May from 18:30-20:00, in a renowned art gallery in Mayfair.

Seret- International Israeli Film Festival: 8th – 15th May.
Together with our partners at Seret, we’re delighted to offer you a rich and varied menu of films that tackle some of Israel’s thorniest issues. At the New Israel Fund, we strongly believe in the power of film to give voice to silenced or marginalised groups and bring to light issues that rarely capture national media attention. See the website for times and locations.
Caberet Total– In this gripping satire, a returning Israeli soldier and drama teacher becomes a public enemy after his anti-IDF classroom-based comments go viral. The turn of events prompts him to fight back by creating a small-town cabaret show that boldly criticises Israeli society and government.
Come Closer– this is a poignant drama from new director Tom Nesher about a young woman who, devastated by her brother’s tragic death, takes increasingly desperate measures to fill the void. This film is a haunting exploration of grief, love, and obsession.
Pink Lady– in an ultra-Orthodox Jewish community in Jerusalem, a woman’s seemingly perfect life with her husband and three children begins to unravel when she discovers his secret homosexual affair, leading her to support his attempts to “cure” himself while simultaneously embarking on her journey of self-discovery and liberation.
EID– in this first Bedouin-directed feature film, a young man, scarred by childhood trauma, defies his family’s arranged marriage to pursue his dreams of becoming a playwright and finding personal freedom.

Best wishes,
