Israel Study Trip 2024
Join us for an NIF Study Trip – 27th-30th June 2024
The New Israel Fund UK are organising a few days of programming in Israel this June, following our International Board meeting. This is an opportunity for those already in or wanting to visit Israel this Summer to join us. As you can appreciate, it has not been easy, but this model provides our key donors the chance to experience our work in response to the war and meet our grantees working collaboratively on longer-term initiatives for a just, safe, and equal future.
Day 1- Thursday June 27th
Speak directly to NIF executive leadership in Tel Aviv, then travel South to meet our grantees first-hand and experience their work set-up in response to October 7th. We will start by visiting the joint Jewish-Palestinian response centre in Rahat that garnered international media attention, and then head to unrecognised Bedouin villages where we have successfully lobbied for shelters, as well as recognition by the State of Israel.
Day 2- Friday June 28th
We will be meeting with grantees who are building visions and training leaders for a shared, safe, and equal future for everyone. Our first stop will be a meeting with Standing Together, the largest grassroots Jewish-Palestinian organisation in Israel. They have played a major role in calming inter-communal tensions during the war.
Next will be a conversation with Mitvim (The Israeli Institute for Regional Foreign Policies) who are developing new, long-term policies for the ‘day after’ the current war that create a road map towards lasting security.
Day 3 (optional)- Sunday June 30th
This optional day will offer volunteering opportunities across the country.
More details to follow.
This is the plan as of April 2024. Changes to the itinerary may happen, but we can guarantee all participants will engage with both our emergency response and longer-term strategic work.
