With sadness and hope, Vivian Silver’s family and friends announce the establishment of the “Vivian Silver Impact Prize”

Vivian was a dear friend, a partner, and a former NIF board member. She was a woman of compassion, humanity, and an endless, deep, and lasting commitment to Jewish-Arab partnership and peace.

This is a loss felt very deeply by the entire NIF family in Israel and around the world. Vivian was an inspiration to all of us for decades, a bright and shining presence, and the embodiment of our deepest values.

Vivian’s family wants her memory to be a source of hope and strength for those carrying on her life’s work and have requested that those who wish to honour Vivian’s life do so by contributing to a special fund established in her memory by her family that will support the cause of partnership and peace. Vivian’s sons and NIF thank you for your support.

The Prize
For more than five decades, Vivian Silver dedicated her efforts and passion to bringing people together in dignity, cooperation, and mutual respect.  With a keen eye and an open heart, she fostered equality – between women and men, between Arabs and Jews – in Israeli society, and actively strived for peace in the region.

Her life work is an example of the power of leadership and a beacon for women of all ages and backgrounds.  The Vivian Silver Impact Prize will ensure that her legacy of activism, persistence and hope continues into the future.

Mission
The prize will be awarded annually to two women, Arab and Jewish, who show great promise or have demonstrated significant accomplishments in one of the areas that embody Vivian’s values and actions:

1. Building Arab-Jewish partnership in Israel
2. Establishing peace between Israel and Palestine
3. Advancing women to decision-making and leadership positions
