Beyond the Ceasefire: What’s Next for Gaza

Thursday 22 January 2026 • 6:30pm

We are partnering with Yachad and Israeli human rights organisation Gisha for an in-depth conversation with Stav Salpeter, Gisha’s Director of International Relations, on the situation in Gaza today — and what it could mean for the future in Israel-Palestine.

As Gaza residents face a third winter under bombardment, heavy rains and flooding are worsening an already devastating humanitarian crisis, with severe shortages of food, shelter, and medical supplies.

We’ll explore:

  • What does addressing the crisis actually look like now?
  • What are Israel’s legal obligations towards Gaza residents?
  • How did we get here — and what happens next?

This is a chance to hear directly from people working on the ground, unpack the context behind the crisis, and learn about the groundbreaking legal petitions currently before the courts — plus what it will take to uphold basic rights and dignity.

The event will be held in a North London location, which will be sent to ticket holders.

When you register, you consent to your details being shared with Yachad and NIF so we can organise the event effectively. Any additional donations will be sent to Gisha after covering the cost of the event.

Gisha (meaning both “access” and “approach” in Hebrew) is a human rights organisation founded in 2005, whose goal is to protect the freedom of movement of Palestinians, especially Gaza residents. Gisha achieves its mission through a mixture of public and legal advocacy work, drawing on Israeli and international human rights and humanitarian law.

Stav Salpeter (she/her) is Gisha’s Director of International Relations. Previously, she served as Director of International Relations and Development at Itach-Ma’aki: Women Lawyers for Social Justice, and as the Director of Community Engagement at Yachad, a British Jewish organisation advocating to end the occupation. While completing her MA (Hons) in International Relations and International Law at the University of Edinburgh, Stav was awarded the 2022 Principal’s Medal for her leadership of international networks and spaces to discuss Israel-Palestine. Alongside her studies, she directed the Edinburgh International Justice Initiative, a pro-bono legal research clinic focusing on international criminal law and human rights. In her free time, Stav is an elected representative of Haifa on the national leadership of Standing Together, a grassroots movement mobilizing against the occupation and for peace, equality, and social justice.
