JEWISH BOOK WEEK – Across the Divide: Jewish & Arab Israeli Women
8th March 2026 • 2pm • St Pancras Room, King’s Place
Peace activist Vivian Silver was one of many murdered in the Gaza Envelope on 7 October. Amid profound grief, her partners in peace have continued her work with Women Write Hope: Life Stories of Jewish and Arab Women Waging Peace Amidst War.
This event welcomes two key figures behind this remarkable initiative: social changemaker Ghadir Hani, who facilitates dialogue between Israelis and Palestinians, and Dror Rubin, who focuses on Israel’s mixed cities and builds trust between Jews and Arabs. They will discuss the accompanying book, which documents the lives of 21 women. In partnership with the New Israel Fund.
The Vivian Silver Impact Awards: London Ceremony
22nd March 2026 • 4 pm • Central London
Join us to honour the winners of the Vivian Silver Impact Award and to celebrate the life and legacy of Vivian Silver, a lifelong advocate for peace, equality, and shared society.
The Award recognises two women — one Arab and one Jewish — whose work reflects Vivian Silver’s values of women’s empowerment, human rights, and peace between Israelis and Palestinians. This year’s awardees are Quamar Mishirqi-Assad, founder of Haqel, and Yofi Tirosh, a leading advocate for Israeli democracy, equality, and women’s inclusion in public life.
Funds raised from the event will support the AJEEC House in the Negev – named the Vivian Silver Center for Shared Society – which embodies a transformative vision for Arab Israeli youth’s employment and social integration.
Doors open at 4 pm, with the panel discussion beginning at 4.30 pm. This will be followed by an informal drinks reception & light bites between 6-7:30 pm. The Vivian Silver Awards will be held in Central London (a couple of minutes’ walk from Covent Garden station).
