Join us for a special launch event at JW3 on Monday 19 October at 6:30 pm. We will have a private tour of the exhibition with its curator, Dana Wohlfeiler-Lalkin, followed by a screening of A Letter To David.

Following a successful run in Hoxton, NIF and Local Testimony (Edut Mekomit) are bringing a powerful selection of works from Israel’s leading photojournalism exhibition to London, in partnership with JW3. This curated collection of still images and short films offers an unfiltered look at a turbulent year in Israeli society.

“[This] photo exhibition spotlights joy, agony and daily life for Israelis and Palestinians” – The Jewish Chronicle

Spanning conflict with Iran, the ongoing war in Gaza, mass protests, the return of hostages, and deepening internal divisions, the exhibition captures the human stories behind the headlines. Featuring work by acclaimed Israeli and Palestinian photographers, it provides a rare and intimate perspective on events as they unfolded.

Visitors are also welcome to attend the exhibition at JW3, from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm on Monday 19 October, and 10:00 am to 10:00 pm on Tuesday 20, Wednesday 21 and Thursday 22 October – no registration necessary.

A Letter to David follows twin brothers David and Eitan Cunio from kibbutz Nir Oz, once actors in Tom Shoval’s (the director) debut film. Their lives were torn apart on 7 October when David and their younger brother Ariel were taken hostage. This Ophir Award-winning documentary weaves memory, cinema and war — and is newly updated, following David and Ariel’s return from captivity in Gaza. With its new ending, it offers some closure, and promises to be a moving – and highly relevant – complement to the themes covered in the exhibition.

Ophir Award Winner for Best Documentary, 2024.
