We have created a new programme to promote a safe, peaceful and inclusive alternative vision for Israel’s future.

We are working with think tanks that develop strategic policy proposals and diplomatic initiatives, while building public understanding and support for regional diplomacy and peace. Alongside this important building work, we also invest in vigorous efforts to block ongoing attacks on Palestinians and halt creeping annexation in the West Bank.

Our Political Horizons Forum is reinvigorating the Israeli peace movement from the ground up. It brings together 20 diverse organisations – from veteran groups like Peace Now to dynamic movements like Standing Together – to develop concrete plans and multiply grassroots efforts towards lasting peace. 

One of the most exciting projects within the Political Horizons Forum is a joint unit aiming to combine political ideation with action to help guide Israel into a new reality.  

To achieve this we convened key organisations dealing with “The day after the war” to share expertise and amplify each others’ work.We brought together grantees, Mitvim and Berl Katznelson Foundation (BKF) to develop the long-term political and policy elements of this project, the HQ to lead the media response, and aChord to examine the effectiveness of existing messaging.  

The preliminary version of this plan, The Israeli Initiative, has already been sent to hundreds of thousands of Israelis and presented at the Knesset. 

Reminding Israelis of their agency: Have You Seen the Horizon Lately billboard campaign posed simple questions to remind Israelis of their power to shape the country’s future.

Blocking Settler Violence in the West Bank 

In the face of escalating settler violence, our work in the West Bank has never been more crucial. NIF grantees are mounting a multi-front defence of Palestinian communities, working hard on the ground, in the courts, and online, to block settler violence.
