NIF pushed back against attacks on democracy – in the Knesset, in the courts and on the streets. We also supported education among Israeli youth to deepen their understanding of democracy and equality. 

In 2025, we blocked and suspended attempts to:  

• Disqualify Arab political parties  

• Impose an 80% tax on NGO funding  

• Allow ministerial interference in police investigations 

We advanced laws protecting rights and accountability:  

• Greater transparency in Israel’s national budget  

• Safeguarding freedom of expression in public spaces  

• Ensuring adequate food supply for Palestinian prisoners

NIF’s Civil Society Protection Hub has become a key pillar of support for Israeli activists and organisations whose work is limited by political intimidation. In 2025, we successfully resolved 70% of harassment cases by offering victims legal assistance and media training.
