On the Ground in Gaza: Humanitarian Voices Making a Difference

Watch the recording here.

On Tuesday, 8th July, we held a webinar that brought together powerful voices responding to the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

We heard from Clean Shelter co-founders, Dr. Tom Kellner and Seba Abu-Daqa, who have been providing rapid, life-saving support to displaced communities since founding the initiative in January 2024. Their work delivers essential resources—tents, toilets, community shelters, and clean water—while navigating extreme operational challenges, including blockades and airstrikes.

We were also joined by Adi Ronen Argov, founder of The Daily File, a grassroots media project exposing the daily realities of life under Occupation — especially the tragic loss of children’s lives in Gaza. By collecting firsthand reports from Palestinian sources, The Daily File confronts the silence in mainstream Israeli media and urges recognition, responsibility, and change.

Elisheva Goldberg, Senior Director of Media & Policy at New Israel Fund US, framed how this work fits into NIF’s broader mission to uphold human rights, equality, and justice.

This rare opportunity to hear directly from the frontline of humanitarian aid in Gaza explored how we can all support dignity, safety, and human rights for those most at risk.

Adi Ronen-Argov

Adi Argov is the Senior Chief Editor at The Daily File. A senior specialist clinical psychologist, she is also a facilitator of meditation and a mother and grandmother.  She says about her work on the project, ‘ I want to face reality as it is and tell it as it is.’

The Daily File is an independent voluntary project by Israeli citizens wishing to bring attention to the daily goings-on in the West Bank and in the Gaza Strip, and the interface of Palestinians and Israeli security and military forces. The project reports on violence against Palestinians, theft of property, and loss of children’s lives– particularly in Gaza. The statistics and stories are gathered from a number of Palestinian sources, including the Palestinian Health Ministry and independent journalists in Gaza.

Most of this information is not reported by Israeli media, and many Israeli civilians remain uninformed. The Daily File believes that knowledge is a vital step towards understanding and recognising the urgent necessity for a political solution. The organisation works in collaboration with the collective group ‘Looking the Occupation in the Eye’.
