The New Israel Fund Fellowship is a year-long programme for our supporters in their 20s and 30s offering a unique immersion into current issues in Israeli society, opportunities to build connections with Israeli activists leading positive change, and the skills and platforms to advance our work in the UK.

The New Israel Fund remains deeply committed to the Global Activism Fellowship as one of the most meaningful ways of connecting to our work and our vision. Join NIF Fellows from around the world on an immersive eight day trip to Israel and the West Bank, meeting leaders and activists to learn about the challenges facing Israel, and how civil society is mobilising to meet them. On returning to the UK, you will receive bespoke training and support as you amplify our message in the British Jewish community.

Through the Fellowship we develop a new generation of leaders to engage the British Jewish community with our work to advance social justice, human rights, religious freedom and a shared and tolerant society in Israel. The Fellowship receives generous support from the Fisch Family Trust in Memory of Regina and Robert Lewin.

+ Who can apply?

The Fellowship is open to anyone in their 20s and 30s identifying as part of the British Jewish community. We are committed to social inclusion and diversity. No previous engagement with the New Israel Fund is necessary. You should, of course, be committed to our values and interested in our work.

+ What is the application process?

Applications will need to be submitted through our online application form after this goes live in early 2020. We will interview potential candidates, and make offers as soon as possible after interview.

 

+ What dates would I need to be available to participate in the Fellowship?

You need to be available to attend the Israel study tour in July. You also need to be available to attend seminars in London over six Sundays throughout the year, between September and June.

+ What will the itinerary be for the study tour?

Our itinerary will be finalised a few weeks before the trip. You can view the itinerary from our 2018 study tour here.

+ What does the Fellowship cost?

We ask Fellows to make a contribution of £500, which can be paid in monthly instalments for up to 24 months (£20.80 per month over 24 months). The cost includes the study-tour in Israel, but not flights or travel insurance. We do not want cost to be a barrier to participation, so please let us know if you would need an additional bursary to participate.

+ What does participation require?

Fellows act as ambassadors for NIF throughout the Fellowship year. This includes a commitment to producing four projects, working on a culminating project with the other Fellows, volunteering around and hosting a table at our Human Rights Awards Dinner, and being an active member of the NIF community.
