The Sea

Sunday 10th May, 7.30 pm, JW3

Twelve-year-old Khaled has never seen the sea, despite living just miles from it. When a school trip offers him his first chance, he is turned back at a military checkpoint while his classmates continue on. Refusing to give up, Khaled sets out alone on a journey into the unknown. As his father risks everything to find him, The Sea becomes a powerful story of childhood determination, separation, and the quiet resilience of families living under restriction.

The Sea premiered at the Jerusalem Film Festival, where it won three awards, and went on to win all five Ophir Awards it was nominated for, including Best Film, Best Screenplay and Best Actor. It was also selected as the Israeli entry for Best International Feature Film at the Academy Awards.

Get the Land Back

Monday 11th May, 3 pm, JW3

When struggling comedian Irmy asks his father for financial help, he discovers his only inheritance is a tiny plot of land in the occupied Palestinian territories—now home to a settler-run winery. What follows is an unexpected and often hilarious battle against bureaucracy, ideology, and power. Blending sharp humour with political urgency, Get the Land Back transforms a personal dispute into a bold, irreverent exploration of ownership, resistance, and the absurd realities of life under occupation.

Get the Land Back was directed, written by and starred Irmy Shik Blum, host of the NIF podcast, Ma Osim Im Ze (What Do We Do With This?).

Annu

Tuesday 13th May, 5.30 pm, JW3

In a quiet Druze village, six-year-old Annu shares a deep bond with her grandmother Sana—until a sudden collapse leaves her whispering a chilling message tied to a past life in Syria. Convinced her granddaughter carries the spirit of her late sister, Sana embarks on a forbidden journey across borders and memory. Annu is a haunting and tender exploration of grief, belief, and identity, weaving together personal history and political divides through a story of love that transcends generations.

Oxygen

Tuesday 13th May, 8 pm, Charlotte Street Hotel

Anat, a devoted teacher and single mother, counts down the days until her son returns from military service. But when war breaks out, and his discharge is cancelled, her world begins to unravel. As family tensions rise and buried trauma resurfaces, Anat is pushed to the brink, determined to bring her son home at any cost. Oxygen is an intimate, emotionally charged portrait of motherhood, sacrifice, and the impossible choices faced in times of conflict.

Oxygen took home the Best Feature Film Award at the Jerusalem Film Festival.
