Combatting Settler Violence

Last week, 76-year-old Israeli photographer Oded Yedaya – father of NIF staff member Ella Yedaya – was brutally attacked by Jewish settlers while joining a peaceful olive harvest in the West Bank. He ended the day in the hospital with a 2-inch head wound.

This wasn’t an isolated incident. Settler violence against both Palestinians and Jewish activists is rising sharply. 2025 saw a record 110 attacks – the highest since UN monitoring began. Combined with government-backed annexation efforts in Area C and East Jerusalem, communities are facing daily, life-threatening pressure.

The New Israel Fund is stepping up.

Right now we are:

  • Protecting Palestinians and activists through emergency aid, resilience programmes, and public campaigns exposing violence and state complicity.

  • Preventing annexation and displacement with legal action and policy work.

  • Strengthening frontline partners, including:

    • Rabbis for Human Rights – offering protective presence, legal training, and humanitarian support.

    • Breaking the Silence – exposing IDF complicity and educating the public.

    • Yesh Din – tracking attacks, filing urgent petitions, and documenting land theft.

Settler violence—fuelled by the Gaza war and emboldened by extremist politicians—is at its most dangerous point yet.

We need your help.

Your donation will directly fund emergency grants, protect Palestinians against settler violence, work to fight annexation, and build an alternative vision for a just and peaceful future in Israel.
