Behind the Headlines – Yom HaZikaron
< Next month’s podcast Last month’s podcast >
Yom HaZikaron is Israel’s national Memorial Day for its fallen soldiers and victims of terror. It is marked on the eve of Israel’s Independence Day, suggesting an explicit link between the sacrifice made by those we mourn and the very existence of the State of Israel. Combatants for Peace (CFP) and the Parents Circle Families Forum (PCFF) have been hosting a ceremony which mourns the loss of all those who fell in the context of the conflict – both Israelis and Palestinians — for the past decade.
