SafeHeart
Since October 7th, SafeHeart has become the primary therapeutic pillar for the survivors of the Nova Music Festival massacre, providing both mental and physical health support.
SafeHeart currently provides long-term therapy and support to 1,000 survivors and their families, with a team of over 400 mental health professionals, including psychologists, social workers, and psychiatrists. Their holistic support includes:
- Individual Therapy: Ongoing treatment for around 1,000 survivors, exceeding 58,000 total hours of individual therapy.
- Workshops: They have conducted over 90 group processes, workshops, and community events for survivors and their families.
- Retreats: They have hosted 21 retreats for survivors.
- Mind-Body Treatments: Accessible complementary therapies.
- Family Support: Workshops, lectures, and support groups for families, and a support community dedicated to the family members of survivors that includes ~700 members.
- Psychiatry & Critical Cases Network: 24/7 access to two psychiatrists for urgent needs.
- Research: Their research led by the University of Haifa (studying 1,500 survivors) has seen two new papers published in 2025, in addition to the 2 articles already published from the research led by SafeHeart and Bar Ilan University.
New Israel Fund UK is providing a special grant to SafeHeart and hopes to continue this support through each year until at least 2030.
This follows previous assistance from NIF around the world when SafeHeart was set up so they could raise charitable funds.
Our work with SafeHeart is part of the many ways we have been supporting those affected by the 7 October attacks and the war in Gaza.
To directly support the SafeHeart, please donate using the form below. New Israel Fund has waived all fees and will pass on all Gift Aid (from eligible donations) along with all funds donated to SafeHeart.
