Safety, Dignity and Equality at a Time of War

Across Israel and the West Bank, communities are facing sirens, violence and uncertainty. Your support helps provide shelter, protect vulnerable families and defend the democratic space that makes a just future possible.

By giving today you will be supporting three key areas of NIF’s work:

Equality and Partnership in the Negev

We continue investing in rebuilding communities devastated by the Hamas attacks on 7 October by promoting inclusive recovery for Bedouin communities, kibbutzim and towns in the Negev. Right now, many Bedouin unrecognised villages still do not have access to safe shelters. NIF is responding to this urgent need by delivering emergency services and aid to these marginalised communities.

Combating Settler Violence

Even as missiles fall across Israel and the West Bank, extremist settlers have been carrying out attacks against Palestinian communities. This comes as the highest number of attacks in nearly two decades has been recorded – over 1,770 – an average of five a day. Together with our partners, NIF continues to protect Palestinian families from settler attacks, document violence and support families during the olive harvest. Through NIF’s Occupied Palestinian Territories Activists Support Programme, we support hundreds of activists through de-escalation and community safety training, Arabic language skills and mental resilience support – helping them cope with sustained violence while preventing burnout and trauma.

Safeguarding Democracy

Even during times of war, NIF works to safeguard democratic institutions and processes, defending freedom of protest and expression and defending minority rights. NIF’s Civil Society Protection Hub has become a key pillar of support for Israeli activists and organisations facing political intimidation by providing legal assistance and media support.

Continuing to support vulnerable and traumatised survivors of 7 October

Through NIF you can also support SafeHeart, which provides professional mental health support to survivors of the Nova music festival massacre on 7 October. SafeHeart brings together a network of psychologists, psychiatrists, clinical social workers and psychotherapists experienced in trauma care and psychedelic harm-reduction therapy.
