NIF Crisis Action Plan
As the COVID-19 pandemic spreads around the world, it affects us all in profound ways. The virus has revealed inequities and vulnerabilities in all of the societies it has affected, including in Israel.
We want to reach out and care for each other – but this can seem difficult right now. Israel has not had a functioning government in more than a year, and its prime minister is attempting to use the pandemic as cover for anti-democratic moves like the potential annexation of parts of the West Bank.
The New Israel Fund’s task during this public health emergency is to see the big picture and line up all of the resources we can in order to help all Israelis make it through this crisis.
We are doing what we do best – bringing together our supporters from around the world with a shared mission: In this moment of crisis, use our collective resources, expertise, and relationships to help make things better.
NIF has created a Crisis Action Plan with three strategies that will serve as the primary focus of our work during this period:
1. Protecting the Most Marginalised and Vulnerable Communities
2. Defending Civil Liberties and Democracy
3. Maintaining a Strong and Vibrant Civil Society
